This is Us!
How lucky are we to witness a marriage as special as this one? We’ve ALL been family for so long, that Rick & Cindy hoped for a weekend where we could all be together, make memories, boat around the lake and, and at some point throughout the weekend, they’d have a wedding 😉 The weekend began with a hilarious hitch before they were hitched. We rented a pontoon boat (in mint condition), made it all the way up the river, only to break down right in front of the cottage. The memory making was off to a start, and it’s something we’ll always look back on and laugh about. The whole gang arrived on Friday and so began our weekend of relaxing and celebrating two of our favorite people in the whole wide world (although they made sure we knew that we were celebrating everybody, togetherness, and that it was “just another weekend”)
Saturday had some rain clouds, but lucky for us, Matt our officiant is in our fab original 12, so they could get married whenever the forecast cleared! We spent the morning making corsages, boutonnieres and a bouquet. We brought flowers from our yards, a grocery bunch that stood out, or went foraging in the ditches that day (…) We drank mimosas and cranked the tunes while the guys played cribbage and bocce ball. The afternoon was looking promising weather wise, Rick buttoned up his suit, mom slipped into her dress, we set up chairs in a semi circle, officiant Matt took his place, and so it began. My brother walked my mom down the aisle (sidewalk) and I’ve never witnessed a sweeter 25 minutes. We did some readings, a sand ceremony, played music on a JBL speaker, we laughed and cried and soaked in the joy. It was the best. They are the best. They gave a toast and gifted us family shirts. The Peeters family is numbered through 200+, so us LeNoble kids each got a number! And the Peeters were gifted our signature LeNoble tie dye tee’s. It’s a thing. We had cocktail hour on the patio at the cottage, and moseyed down the street for dinner and pull tabs. Again, it was the best. They are the best.
The rest of the weekend included sand bar hangs, yard games, and just being together <3 I was under *strict* orders to be present and leave the camera behind. I had to document a bit, obviously, but we balanced photo time with cousin Leah stopping in to snap some for us (we love you!), polaroids, and a little hand held camera for fun. Here’s a hodge-podge of our memories!
