Andy and Jen have been married for three years, and what an adventurous three years it has been, filled with long distance and traveling and moving. Andy is in the Military and has been serving our country for years. Going into marriage, they knew they would probably have to be a part more than together, but it was worth it. He admitted that the long flight home from Afghanistan went by quickly, because he knew what he was coming home to – Jen, family, friends, Wisconsin, but knew that the flight back was going to seem much longer, knowing that it wouldn’t be until February until he’d be back. As my heart sank more and more after learning about their distance and knowing that he would be leaving only a few days after our shoot, instead of feeling sadness, they felt joy. Not once did they complain about their lifestyle. There was only happiness that they get to have this photo shoot, that they get to hold hands and walk (and lay ;)) on the beach, climb some rocks and see the prettiest Wisconsin view at sunset together, laugh and make memories that would soon help them through this deployment and get to February with a smile.
Andy wasn’t home long, but he and Jen had a full itinerary. They laughed that they were tourists in their own state for the week, going horse back riding, staying at a hotel in the Dells, taking mini road trips and hiking up the trails of Devil’s Lake. They didn’t waste one minute together and I don’t think that anyone can help but be inspired by that. You can feel the love in these photos. You can feel their energy, their excitement to just be together!
