Tom + Lauren: Brunch Wedding in Winter, Simple & Sweet, Green Bay, WI

These two are a pair after my own heart. I nearly teared up when Lauren sent over her wedding worksheet that filled me in on their wedding day details. The pine trees you see? They are from Lauren’s Grandma’s property. Tom’s saber? He got it engraved with their wedding date. Tom’s dad married them. The wooden box to hold their rings and that beautiful locket? Gifts from Tom while he served overseas. The cookies and sweet treats? Recipes copied from their grandma’s cookbooks, family favorite nostalgic treats. Her handkerchief? It belonged to her great-grandma. THIS is what I love about weddings. The family, the love, the big hearted ideas that make it special to you.

Tom and Lauren met in 2013 through mutual friends while he was in college in New York and she was in college in De Pere. They knew right away that they were just the same kind of weird, they are absolute best friends just knew that they were meant for each other. Tom is a military intelligence officer in the Army and currently lives in Alaska. Lauren is a lawyer who lives in Chicago. Tom recently returned from a 9 month deployment earlier this year, Lauren moved up to Alaska for the summer to study and be with Tom and they had the best summer ever. They’ve been long distance for 5 years and only have a couple more to go! They had a short engagement and could not wait to just be husband and wife. Their future holds the most exciting adventures and I am on pins and needles waiting to see where life takes them <3 (and am secretly planning a trip to Alaska to visit… bucket list!!)

The morning light was beyond beautiful for their Saturday morning ceremony and brunch with family and friends. They had board games, they had mimosas, they had Christmas decor, they had pictures taken and hugged lots of people and smiled all day. I love this wedding and I love the Huxtable’s! <3
