This Christmas Tree Farm engagement session makes me so happy for so many reasons. Firstly, I was able to meet Jon and Jess for the first time and they were just as sweet and amazing as I hoped! After talking with Jess the last couple of months, it didn’t seem too possible that I was going to be able to photograph their wedding with the original dates they had been looking into. Bummed, but understandably, this happens! A while later, sweet Jess messaged asking what dates I had available, and they would try to plan their wedding day so that I could be there! WHAT?! This made my whole life and let me know that not only do they value photography, but specifically, my images… and for that, these two will forever have a stamp on my heart. What a humbling and exciting experience!
Secondly, Summers Christmas Tree Farm. The people here were absolutely amazing, and their space was absolutely amazing. Bill and Judy welcomed us with open arms and Christmas cheer and I couldn’t be more thankful that we were able to meet them and shoot there. They have gorgeous land, trees, and the cutest shop filled with ornaments and decor! I bought a cute ornament, and Jon and Jess bought a little truck hauling an Christmas tree ornament that said “Summers Tree Farm” right on it to remember this day. Special, special! (I even snapped a few photos of Bill and Judy afterwards! Check that out on Facebook!)
Thirdly (and most importantly), Jon and Jessica are an endless amount of wonderful. Together is clearly their favorite place to be, and adventure awaits as they will (finally) be in the same state super soon! Jon lives in Washington DC and moved out there about a year and a half ago for his job, and Jess will be joining him this month, just in time for Christmas. Being apart makes them appreciate when they are together, and made this shoot even more special as he would be flying back to DC the next day. I always ask couples what they love most, what their passions are, and I just have to share theirs! Jessica has a love for graphic design and will be designing their wedding invitations! She loves science, the Packers (woot!) and gymnastics (and has been teaching kiddos for years!) Jon loves trivia and things that make you think, the Bears (… ;)), and golf, and when Jess asked him what he was most passionate about, he said “you”. Melt me! They are so kind, so humble, so easy to hang with and so, so, so ready to be husband and wife this coming May! Wishing you two the greatest adventures together in DC and I am so thankful to have ventured around Summers with you all day!! Already counting down the days until your wedding!
