Outdoor weddings always turn out to be some of my favorites not only because the lighting is fabulous, but because of the whole idea and vibe that come with backyard celebrations. Grant and Tatum were married in the backyard of Grant’s Grandma’s house over looking the water in Fremont, where he made memories growing up as a kid and can now say he made one more, marrying his beautiful bride. Guests sat in custom made benches, sipped on bottled soda, enjoyed the fresh air and each others company as they waited for Grant and Tatum’s wedding day to begin. I may have mentioned this in their engagement post, but I really just love the way these two are together. They describe themselves as best friends who have always been apart of each other’s lives. This day was a long time coming and it is one of my favorite celebrations that I have been able to photograph. It was relaxed but classy, intimate but a celebration.
So many people took part in making this day as wonderful as it was, from the custom made bar that they used during their cocktail hour, to the benches at their ceremony and the arch they were wed under. Following the ceremony and cocktail hour, we took a pontoon ride to the reception were boaters waved and cheered them on. They were greeted with porches filled with guests who threw their hands in the air and clapped for the new Mr. and Mrs. when they arrived at their reception site, Ted’s Grandview.
The night was filled with dancing, sparklers, string lights and outside mingling by the water. Their hope for their photos was to feel like they were placed right back in those moments form their wedding day, from how the sunlight feels on their face to the sound of the music playing and the energy it brings. I am so proud to show off their wedding photos that tell one wonderful story! (P.S. Make sure you make it all the way to the end, there’s a fun sparkler surprise and what just might be the start of something new for Molly Jo Collection!)
Meet: Mr. and Mrs. Laue:
For real though… how badly do you wish you could just be hanging out (and eating desserts!!) at this wedding right now? Another big congratulations to the happy couple! A day perfectly tailored to them and one unlike any other <3
