It was funny. While taking photos of the lovely bridesmaids, they giggled and said, “I wonder what you’ll say about us in this blog post!!” So, to start, I’ll first say how much I love their bridal party! Derek + Ally sure know the people to surround themselves with for a good time, for too many laughs, and to cry right along with them on their wedding day. People have SO MUCH love for this pair. They believe in them, they know they are right where they are supposed to be in life and they know how truly happy they are together. They know that their future is bright, their love is strong, and their caring and kind hearts will always beat for the other person. I think that’s why there were so many tears at their wedding… because they deserve all of this happiness and because this day was so destined to be. Before Ally walked down the aisle, her and her ladies were getting ready in the balcony of the chapel. They could see the chairs being decorated with adorable polka-dotted jars and petals being sprinkled down the aisle. They could hear guests chat about the day and were able to really be present in all that was happening around them. Ally was so cute. The music started playing, she began to tear up and commented, “WHY did I have to pick songs I liked so much! I knew they were going to make me cry!” All of the bridesmaids made their way down the steps and proceeded to walk down the aisle. Once everyone was in place and a new song began to play, Ally moved from behind the curtains and turned to go down the steps. You could only see her veil and some movement for that split second, but Derek’s were glued to that balcony. Arm and arm with her dad, Allyson began to walk towards her groom, and halfway down the aisle, paused to wipe away some tears. This was TRULY the happiest moment in both of their lives, you could feel it.
Aside from the emotional and heartfelt day, their wedding was ON POINT trend wise! My gosh! She wore an absolutely stunning gown that fit her like a glove (and the back was to die for!) and the girls wore the sweetest dresses, ones I’ve never seen before! An icy/minty blue with high neck lace, and the most beautiful succulent-filled pastel blooms. The guys wore gray, Derek in a darker color than the rest and they looked so darn dapper. I was blown away! Heartfelt AND trendy? My two favorite things to photograph! I could (clearly) go on and on about the Weyenberg wedding, but I’ll just end by saying that their friends and family are so lucky to have them, and they are so lucky to have the friends and family that they do. Their wedding day was a room filled with love, no doubt!
