Costa Rica Caught on Film

When the winter blues strikes, the only logical thing to do is escape to Costa Rica for a few weeks. My brother, Taylor, was planning a trip to visit his pals Larry and Kristin who recently moved to that gorgeous place. Me, being a pesty sister and lover of travel, invited myself to join in the adventure. Our cousin Jill also decided she needed a little vaca and hopped on the Costa Rica bandwagon to make it a “Party of 5” for two weeks. Larry and Kristin introduced us to their new life, new friends, beautiful home and all of the hot spots Guanacaste had to offer (they even made us smoothies – score!)

We zip lined thanks to El Roble Adventure Center (my first time and LOVED it!), deep sea fished with North Flamingo Sports Fishing where we made new friends, hung out with a marlin, sea turtles, whales and dolphins, snorkeled and enjoyed the best rum punch on the planet with the Lazy Lizard, visited beautiful beaches, sang karaoke on Wednesday nights, attempted a salsa dancing class (seriously, you need to watch this video just to see that clip), took naps by the pool and threw leaves to their pup Ruby, had cookouts, celebrated birthdays, ran with the bulls, drank mimosas and threw CD parties. If all of this doesn’t equal to be the best trip ever, I don’t know what will.

Being out of the country and away from a resort feeds that need for new cultural experiences where friendships can be made, new food can be tried and adventures can happen. We couldn’t get enough of Costa Rica and I can guarantee that I will watch this video and go through our photos over and over again to relive all of the beauty, hilarity and relaxation that took place while away. A giant thanks to Larry and Kristin for being the best hostesses in the world! We had the best time and can’t wait to go back already. Check out our 2 week adventure summed up in a tiny 4 minutes and 40 seconds!

Now, Wisconsin… Let’s take a little advice from this here video and bring some sunshine to our state. Pretty please?

xo!
