My goodness, was I absolutely over the moon about this shoot! Liz and I have been chatting the last few months about setting up a photo shoot for her and Cory. They just bought a house together, and came to realize that they just don’t have any photos of the two of them to make the space their own. So, we went ahead and scheduled a casual, “just for fun” shoot to snap some pretty pictures for the sake that photos are important to have. Little did I know, Cory was plotting to propose to Liz. You see, I’ve been dreaming of photographing a proposal for the longest time, so when Cory messaged me the morning of the shoot with his idea, I did a happy dance in my living room and threw confetti in the air. Finally, after years of dating, these two decided to make it forever.
Our shoot started at the Appleton Beer Factory, where we hung inside for a quick beverage and then headed to the back alleys. We convinced Liz to save her fancier outfit for the second half of the day (sneaky sneaky) and then headed to a park nearby. I would decide on a sweet pose, and have them chat, laugh and be adorable. A bit into the second half, they were facing each other, Cory grabbed her hands and decided that would be the next pose, I agreed and took a big step back to witness something I’ve never witnessed before. He spoke the sweetest words, got down on one knee, grabbed the ring from his shoe (so cute!), and tearfully asked his love to be his forever.
They basked in their happiness and hugged the longest hug, she stared at her ring and they giggled over who knew about the set up. It was seriously one of the sweetest things I’ve ever seen and thank my job endlessly for getting me front row to the most amazing moments.
Meet: Cory and Liz – the future Robinson’s!
For all of you fellas thinking about popping the question, I will speak for the ladies by saying – have someone snap your photo! It truly is an emotional experience and one of the best ones of your life.
