Mt. Horeb, WI
I met Cody + Nikki at Sutter’s Ridge Farm in Mt. Horeb for a beautiful, beautiful fall day! And when I say beautiful, I truly mean all around, beautiful. The weather was one thing, the biggest thing was that these two can finally be together. You see, when they first began dating 5 years ago, Cody had thoughts to join the military. Those thoughts turned into 5 years of serving our country with the blessing and support of his gorgeous girl, Nikki. Their engagement session happened only days after he was finished with his military duties, and seeing their bond, connection, happiness, the way they held one another just a few seconds longer, was something so inspiring and exciting. Their kind of love made it though basic training, two tours of Afghanistan, countless other training and living way too many miles apart. Because they were apart more often than not, they find so much joy in the normal, everyday things. Cooking, being outdoors, trying or learning something new together. One of their favorite normal, everyday things to do? Brunch!! Which makes complete sense as to why they are planning a sweet, intimate brunch wedding to celebrate their future together.
What they are most looking forward to? Not having to say goodbye for long periods of time. Pull at my heart strings even tighter, you two. What I love about them most is that when they look at each other, they are really looking. They get a little lost, they see something no one else does. It could be the distance all these years that have made them hold moments because they knew that another goodbye would eventually creep up, but this is something I don’t ever see going away for Cody and Nikki. I am so, so happy that this session happened and I am even more excited to witness them say “I do” late spring (with that gorgeous heirloom ring, might I add! Obsessed, completely).
