If you have your people around you, if you have a space where you're comfortable and an outfit that you can hug and dance and embrace it all in, you have everything you need to have that party, to take those photos and to document your memories. They are your memories & they should feel like you, not like the staged stuff we see sometimes, those belong to other people. We're here for the real, the you is the most important piece for peace and fulfillment.

I recently was going through some photos from my California trip last year (more on the why for that later!) and boy did I get a good laugh at seeing some photos of myself. Of course when you’re on vacation or part of something cool, you want cool pictures to show for it! Well, me, […]

This weekend was a wonderful one and we have the Meza family to thank for welcoming us into their lives! Let me back up a tad into how I became involved in this Welcome Home Ceremony. As you know, social media is amazing for connecting with people, especially in the photography industry. Whitney and I […]

I have this super cool friend named Kate. She taught me how to park in Madison (the struggle was real, friends), took me ice skating, was the perfect gal to go Christmas shopping with, check out the “zoo” with, ohh an ahh at Anthropologie with and chat about life and love and moving and careers […]

I walked around trying to convince everyone that this past weekend I was 22 and tried to ignore the fact that 25 was actually happening. I keep telling people “I’m not ready!” and “25 just sounds so much older than 24!” Truth is, growing up is frightening because it is happening far too quickly. I’m […]

There just are not enough things to say about the Hartjes’s. They let me be a sort of aunt and have sort of sisters, they feed me dinners and take me up north and treat me too well. Being part of Sam’s family these past 3 years has brought me close to his family and […]
