Dear Lovebirds,
I love the moments leading up to your wedding ceremony. You are giddy, nervous and jazzed about finally slipping into that dress. This is the time where you get to hang with your friends, soak in the moments and get all emotional. I love it all. The morning is also the time where I capture a lot of those important details. Those perfect shoes that you thought you’d never find, your well crafted invitations, you applying that last swipe of mascara and twirling in your dress. Because timelines can be strict, I’ve developed a master plan to ensure that you get gorgeous getting ready photos and have all of those wonderful details captured!

Tip #1: Find the light! I always recommend slipping into your dress and applying your makeup in a place that is lit with lots of windows and natural light. If you can, avoid getting ready in the basement of your church or a dark room. Having natural light makes your photos feel natural, gives you a natural skin tone and makes the colors of your photos bright and true to color. Your photos will look amazing, this I promise!

Tip #2: Set aside the details that you want photographed. Have a box ready for your photographer that is filled with your jewelry, invitations, hair pieces, handkerchiefs and all of those important details that help to make up your wedding story. With everything in one place, your photographer will know exactly what you’d like photographed and you will be able to find all of your things in one location while getting ready!

Tip #3: Relax. At this point during the day, your day will unfold no matter what. Relax and take the time to enjoy the idea that you are about to marry the love of your life. Hang out with your friends, your families, eat breakfast, play fun music and have a little dance party. Shoot your partner a cute text, write a sweet note and get excited! It’s your wedding day!!
That’s it! The three top things that can help mold the morning of your wedding day into one that is organized, fun and picture perfect. Anything to add? Leave it in the comments!
