Oh FOSTER workshop, you have my heart! Hanging out and being inspired by people who share the same passion as you is entirely priceless. In most jobs, you are surrounded by people to bounce ideas off of and to ask questions to. You have work friends to help make sure you’re on the right track and to gab with about happenings and changes in your career. Being solo over here, it is sometimes hard to know which direction to take. FOSTER is all about creating a strong photo community, connecting creatives and like minded folks to help one another, to share new ideas and to be inspired. I hit the jackpot on this one because I’m pretty sure I got to hang out with the most wonderful people this past week. I have been following photographer Ben Sasso for quite some time now and was totally psyched to hear that he was hosting a workshop… and he would be accompanied by Benj Haisch and Katch Silva… double score! Feelings of being star-struck definitely hit when I walked through those doors. Everyone was SO nice and welcoming, our cabin quickly turned into a place that felt like home. We ate breakfasts together and cooked meals, sat around picnic tables, kicked our feet up and had the best conversations.

FOSTER is all about community, teaching what you know and guiding photographers through the process. We hit on topics like style and branding, social media, helpful programs and even had ourselves a live shoot. We opened up conversations about they “why”, why we do what we do and why we are inspired to shoot what we shoot. It isn’t for money or popularity, it is for our couples, for marriage and promises and real moments. I could not be more excited to share my very first workshop with you, the first of many! Let’s be a community, shall we? Let’s not compete and compare, let’s help one another and share our stories. Let’s get better, let’s stay inspired, let’s shoot some really cool things that we and our clients can be excited about! Through this workshop I was able to meet 27 amazing souls! People who have landed in my life and who I hope to always stay connected with.
