Cody + Nikki: Timeless + Intentional Brunch Wedding, Madison, WI
There is nothing more special than a couple putting together their favorite kind of day to celebrate their marriage! Cody and Nikki had a ceremony in the morning, and following, invited family and friends to celebrate – brunch style. One of the really cool things about a morning ceremony that hadn’t dawned on me before, is that the couple then gets to spend the whole day together, which is something pretty rare and special all by itself. They were married at Holy Wisdom Monastery, an absolutely gorgeous space. Nikki walked in with her cousin Catie, who was her personal side kick, closest thing to a sister, helpful and lovely always. Without a traditional bridal party, their family and friends took on that role. In turn, that only shed more light on how tight knit this group is. Nikki was all smiles and eager to slip into her long sleeved, delicately laced gown. Her dad loved seeing her as a bride for the first time! Their energy was so synced, it was really sweet to see the two of them so excited.
Cody and Nikki saw one another right before the ceremony. They spent that time together adoring the other person, he complimented her dress and she thought he was the most handsome groom ever. He helped pluck some grass clippings from her cute shoes before heading inside. Morning light flooded the beautiful building while everyone took their places! Sunborn did the most incredible job with that beautiful wreath and those flower arrangements, what a stunning and simple touch to an already simple and stunning space. My favorite part of their ceremony was when they invited some family members to share a few words of advice on marriage, commitment, on finding the joy in everyday. They sealed their ceremony with a kiss, and off we went to enjoy the BEST brunch on the planet (Looking at you, Cento!!). I’ll forever be dreaming about those blueberry pancakes. Cherry Blossom Events + Nikki’s visions created a jaw dropping experience at Cento, jaw dropping. I’m talking mini donuts, little floral arrangements (that guests got to take home afterwards!), bloody mary’s & mimosa’s, the sweetest donut bar, everything you could ever want in a brunch celebration.
The end of brunch brought the big celebration to a close, so afterwards, we headed one block over to The Capitol for some portraits, and the rest of the day was theirs! They were going to hang downtown together, possibly take a trip to the terrace with some friends, and simply enjoy their day. They had nowhere to be and nothing to do besides hang out and hold hands in their suit and gown. Best day.
