Andrew & Lauren: A sweet spring ceremony with Family followed by a picnic in the park, Milwaukee, WI
Their priest made a good point. There will be a super small group of people who will be married during this pandemic, it’s history making. It seems so weird right now, but it’s part of their story and it will be something that they look back on. Andrew and Lauren won’t ever forget being married during a pandemic, but they’ll also never forget how beautiful and sweet their wedding day was too. It looked different than how they originally planned it, they had to pull together a new idea in a short time and they completely made the BEST of their day! Lauren pointed out their church steeple through the window of their condo and said “that’s it!” How special that they can wake up every morning and point to where they were married. She planned to wear a more casual dress for their ceremony and was going to save her gown for their celebration with everyone. With so many unknowns, Andrew told Lauren that he wanted to see her in her dress this year <3 She did her own hair and makeup (you stunning and talented bride, you) and with their parents in the pews next to them, their siblings in the balcony, they vowed to always be together. That was the most important thing to them, to be together.
There were things that happened during this day that might not have happened with the original plans. Lauren’s mom was able to be mother of the bride and a maid of honor. She helped with her train, was handed the bouquet when it was time for their vows, she put in her veil, she was Lauren’s right hand and it was beautiful to see that bond and catch those sweet pictures and memories. Lauren blew kisses and was able to video chat with her friends. That was hard for her, but it showed how much love she had around her and has in her life. Family and friends were there to greet them outside after the ceremony. The blew bubbles and held signs, waved, checked out their rings and smelled her bouquet, they wished them congrats from a distance and that meant the WORLD to Andrew and Lauren!! Their families set up an adorable picnic just feet away from where they were engaged. Cake and champagne were present, of course! They had a first dance, Andrew spun her around and dipped her, all while music was playing from a phone next to their feet. To those who couldn’t be there, know that their day felt peaceful, it felt happy and heartfelt and full of love. They missed you, but were able to have their day in a different way and being married truly is the most important thing! They did it!
