Alex + Sarah: Beautiful Backyard Wedding on the Lake, North Shore Golf Club, Appleton, WI

I LOVE, love Alex and Sarah’s story. Sarah, quite literally, is the girl next door. These two lived only a few doors down from one another but it wasn’t until their Junior year that Alex walked over, knocked on the door, and asked Sarah to a school dance. Shortly after, Alex could call the cute girl down the street his girlfriend. Their families already felt like family, so I’m sure you can guess how exciting and fun this day was! I imagine that Alex and Sarah have made the walk from house to house hundreds of times throughout their relationship, which made it extremely fitting to host their ceremony in Sarah’s parents backyard. Alex’s house is where we would end up taking photos of the groomsmen, and Sarah’s house is where we would end up taking bridesmaid and family photos. All around, it was super special and heartfelt and personal.

To add to the personal touches, I just have to add that Alex and Sarah completed so many projects themselves for their wedding! Alex made the arbor they were married under, Sarah made the table signs, hangers and unity cord, and a detail that was so sweet… the streamers on her bridal bouquet were made from ribbon from her mom’s bridal dress, ribbon from her grandma’s bridal bouquet, and new ribbons, representing herself as a bride. Gush! Love that!

Sarah got ready with just her mom in the room and I loved seeing their sweet relationship while she slipped into her gown and shoes. Her bridesmaids (her something blue <3), her dad and Alex’s mom had the best reactions when she walked out as a bride! Sarah is radiant!! Their ceremony was full of joy, their pup was cuter than ever in his floral collar (quick shout out to Branching Out for creating the most beautiful florals!), North Shore Golf Club was absolutely stunning, friends and family were full of joy and kindness, they had an “Eisch Cream Bar”, a node to their last name, AND, and, they were surprised with a firework show at the end of the night. The day just kept getting better and I know their lives together will keep doing the same!!
