Bill & Stephanie : New Years Eve in the Northwoods, Minocqua, WI
There aren’t enough words of appreciation and strength to fit into one post when writing about Bill and Stephanie. Stephanie lost her dad the week before her wedding and I hate that that had to be part of this day. We were all hurting for them and celebrating their love at the same time. I didn’t even want to include that part into this post but it truly shows how incredible all of these humans are. Bill, Stephanie, their families, friends, friends of family, they all showed up with so much love in their hearts. They all leaned on one another, they celebrated, they hugged longer than usual. Bill and Steph were the other persons strength and light on their wedding day and they made it through holding hands with the most inspiring outlook. It was beautiful. Before this day, Wisconsin had not had sunshine in what felt like weeks. When Stephanie walked outside to greet Bill for their first look, the sun was beaming through the pine trees. It was like her dad was leading her steps with light, he was in their photos, his presence was felt, he helped this day feel like magic.
It was, without a doubt, one HUGE New Years Eve celebration in the Northwoods. I’m talking cozy cottages, twinkling lights that filled you up with holiday spirit, a greenhouse that was transformed into the most enchanting space full of pine and candles. There was a clock on the dance floor for the countdown and nobody rang in the new year without a fun NYE accessory. Stephanie’s mom is a wedding planner and Stephanie is a photographer herself, it’s common that they get to work side by side and be creative together! I loved having conversations with her about how fun it was to plan this day with her mom. We left feeling like we were meant to be there, like we just made some of the most genuine new friends, inspired, like we couldn’t wait to get home to spend time with the ones we love too. It was a great day and we felt really lucky to be there <3
