Zach & Haley: Rainy & romantic wedding in the city, Salvage One, Chicago IL

Dear everyone who is afraid of rain on their wedding day, let this be an example of how romantic and magical it can be <3 It was a dim day in Chicago but Zach and Haley were full of light. It rained all. day. long. A hard rain. There wasn’t one glimmer of sadness or worry, Haley sat back, drank Spotted Cow and enjoyed the people in the room with her. Zach and the fellas were only a few floors up doing exactly the same thing, saying cheers to the day with words of thanks and gratitude. My jaw was stuck to the floor when we opened the bag to reveal Haley’s bridal gown made by Alexandra Grecco. What a stunner. Her Z & H anklets, invite suite, pink fuzzy slippers and adorable gifts from her girls were sprinkled about the room and made for such fun details to photograph – I love when the details are personal and have personality! This is exactly how I would describe the Thuecks wedding, personal with personality. They included elements that were so them – all of the things listed above, the cheese place cards, the lining of Zach’s jacket, that they asked Zach’s dad to officiate and tons more (see photos below 😉 ). Salvage One was a space full of personality itself, it was full of antique treasures and found letters from old signage, recycled for resale and for decor (their Theucks in the City sign was incredible!)

I love how they loved this day, no matter what. I love how Zach always made sure Haley was under an umbrella. I loved that during their vows, both of them put their letters next to their heart when they had to catch their breath and regroup from emotions. I loved that they put one another first on this day and I know they will every single day. I loved that they laughed hard and danced harder.
