Jarrod + Nicole: Colorful and Emotional Spring Wedding, Green Bay, WI
The biggest blizzard to hit Wisconsin in over 100 years just so happened to fall on Jarrod + Nicole’s wedding day. It was so crazy indeed, that Nicole received a phone call that morning “asking what her plan was”, as if the storm were to delay their big day! How crazy, right?! With the most cheerful attitude, she said “I’m going to get married!!!” Nicole and Jarrod, already being the most appreciative people, were so full of thankfulness this day. For everyone who made it to celebrate, for their vendors, for all of the extra help to make their day as exceptional and fun as it was. We, and everyone else, felt their love and thanks all day <3 And if that wasn’t enough, Nicole and Jarrod wrote and printed individual, unique thank you cards addressed to EACH guest! Each person had a personal note of thanks waiting for them when they sat down for dinner.
Winter storm aside, I have so much to say about this wedding!! I’ll start at the very beginning when Jarrod read his letter from Nicole. After those sweet words, an emotional Jarrod laughed saying “I don’t stand a chance when she walks down the aisle.” Across the chapel, an emotional Nicole read her letter from Jarrod, tears in her eyes and so excited to get down that aisle. One of the reception speeches said that when Nicole was walking towards Jarrod, there was something magic between them and we could all feel it. These two met in the 3rd grade (you heard me right!) and had the biggest elementary school crush on one another, a feeling that stuck with them through their teenage years and into college, where they officially began to take that spark seriously. Adorably, they had their 3rd grade teacher, who became one of their best friends, officiate their wedding day. She had the sweetest things to say about that petite little girl and that nice young man who walked into her classroom that first day.
At their reception, I learned that after Jarrod bought Nicole’s engagement ring, his family started to make bets on how long he would last before he popped the question. This was three weeks before Thanksgiving. Some guessed Christmas, summer, some thought he had even a little more strength than that. Three weeks later, during Thanksgiving, he proposed at that very same elementary school. Their families were thrilled and it was so neat to see all of their beaming excitement while talking about it! With family being such an important part of their lives, naturally, Jarrod and Nicole included family elements into their wedding day. She had her grandma’s angel pin pinned to her bouquet, she incorporated rings from her grandma and her mom, aunt Sally made their cake topper, and Nicole’s parent’s 32nd wedding anniversary fell two days before their wedding, and Jarrod’s parent’s 30th wedding anniversary landed two days after. They both had nice, spring weather 😉 Haha!
There was absolutely nothing that could put a halt to their happiness on their wedding day. You can see and feel all of the love that they have and all of the love that was around them! Thanks to all of the above, it was a day that will always hold a story, and one they’ll never forget!
