Today is a day off, and while we choose to take this extra day to spend with family and friends, it’s also a day where we get to honor our military and reflect on just how lucky we are. I was saving John and Sarah’s wedding to share for today because not only was it a celebration of marriage, it was a celebration of togetherness and an applause to their sacrifice as John is a member of the U.S. Military. He arrived the week before their wedding day, the first time he’s seen Sarah in months. They had big plans for his time spent at home – marrying the love of his life!
Oh how beautiful their Madison wedding day was! It was romantic and fun just a joy to be around all day. We met them at The Madison Concourse Hotel where John and Sarah were getting ready one room away from each other. The girls wore floral robes and jelly shoes (talk about awesome!) while they got ready, and the guys were sharing a cheers before the big ceremony. When the church doors opened and Sarah made her way to the end of the aisle, John raised his eyebrows up and down and you just know he was thinking… Wow, I get to marry that beautiful girl.
Following the ceremony was a bus ride around town, lots of champagne and so much dancing at the Monona Terrace. Sarah and John, thank you one hundred times over for being an amazing duo with just as amazing friends and family, and for your sacrifice and dedication to our county. It just seems like “Thank You” can never be enough!
